To cross the threshold of the Scuola Gladiatori is to journey back in time, to the age when courage, discipline and honour governed the lives of Ancient Rome's most celebrated fighters. After a brief introduction in the historical museum, the experience begins in earnest: guided by a dedicated instructor, guests don the traditional training tunic and learn to handle the Rudis, the ancient weapon of the gladiators. Between techniques of attack and defence, every movement recaptures the thrill of living, if only for a day, as a true Roman gladiator.
