1. 1Day 1Rome – Portovenere – Genoa, 550 km

   Departure from Rome – lunch on your own along the way – in the afternoon, walking tour with your tour leader of Portovenere, a magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site – check-in at the hotel in Genoa in the evening – dinner at the hotel – after dinner, Genoa by night: walking tour with your tour leader, using public transportation, to Piazza De Ferrari and Piazza delle Erbe – overnight stay.

2. 2Day 2Genoa “a jewel nestled between sea and mountains”

   Breakfast at the hotel – full day devoted to a guided tour of the city: the historic center and its patrician residences, the Strade Nuove with the UNESCO-listed Palazzi dei Rolli (panoramic tour, Via Garibaldi, Piazza Caricamento, Palazzo San Giorgio, Piazza Bianchi, Piazza San Matteo, Piazza De Ferrari, Porta Soprana, the House of Christopher Columbus, Palazzo Reale and Palazzo Spinola – interior visits), the Aquarium (self-guided visit) and the Old Port district, with the chance to ride the Bigo, a 40-meter panoramic lift with sweeping views over the city – traditional lunch at a restaurant – gelato tasting – free time for shopping – dinner at the hotel – after dinner, Genoa by night: walking tour with your tour leader in Nervi – overnight stay.

3. 3Day 3Cervo – Laigueglia – Varigotti “The most beautiful villages”, 250 km

   Breakfast at the hotel – full-day guided excursion along the Riviera di Ponente – visits to some of the most beautiful villages in Liguria: Cervo (a lovely medieval village crowned by a singular gem, Clavesana Castle with its Ethnographic Museum, the Church of San Giovanni Battista, an expression of Ligurian Baroque, and a historic center laced with narrow lanes), Laigueglia (a seaside village that owed its fortune to coral fishermen; Parish Church of San Matteo) and Varigotti (the finest natural harbor on the western Riviera, its colorful houses and flat rooftop terraces making the landscape unique) – traditional lunch at a restaurant – during this excursion we cross the brand-new San Giorgio Bridge in both directions – return to the hotel in the evening – dinner at the hotel – free evening, tour leader at your disposal – overnight stay.

4. 4Day 4Portofino – Santa Margherita Ligure – Rapallo “The most beautiful…

   villages”, 50 km. Breakfast at the hotel – full-day guided excursion along the Riviera di Levante – visits to Rapallo, Santa Margherita Ligure and Portofino – traditional lunch at a restaurant – return to the hotel in the evening – dinner at the hotel – after dinner, Genoa by night: walking tour with your tour leader in Boccadasse, an age-old fishing village – overnight stay.

5. 5Day 5Cinque Terre Tour “a natural paradise, a UNESCO World Heritage Site”…

   150 km. Breakfast at the hotel – full-day guided excursion by train to the Cinque Terre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site – visits to Levanto, Monterosso, Manarola and Riomaggiore (including a stroll along the Via dell’Amore, conditions permitting, from Riomaggiore to Manarola) – lunch on your own – tasting of Sciacchetrà DOC wine – return to the hotel in the evening – dinner at the hotel – free evening, tour leader at your disposal – overnight stay.

6. 6Day 6Genoa – Sarzana – Rome, 510 km

   Breakfast at the hotel – departure for Sarzana – guided visit of the town – tasting of a local specialty dessert, the spongata of Sarzana – lunch on your own along the way – arrival in the evening. Please note: visits may be rearranged among days 2, 3 and 4 depending on museum opening hours.
